Assisted living is a long-term care alternative for seniors needing more assistance than is available to them at home but who do not require extensive medical and nursing care. Many of our elders come after a period of rehabilitation in a nursing home or hospital for care in our assisted living residence. Persons choosing this type of care receive supervision, assistance and health care services upon request including medication administration, help with dressing, grooming and bathing, etc. Located conveniently nearby are shopping areas and the community college. Elders are encouraged to maintain an active lifestyle and be involved in family and community activities. As individual needs dictate, an elder may transfer between levels of care therefore eliminating the need to be moved to a new facility.
